James Harrison is the Australian man who holds the world record for the most blood donations, having donated blood over 1,100 times in 60 years.
Medical experts discovered that her blood contained antibodies useful for developing a vaccine and treating the disease Rhesis D, which had plagued many families and led to abortions or stillbirths.
A vaccine known as Anti-D has been developed using James Harrison’s blood. Once this vaccine became available, it was administered to pregnant women with Rh-negative blood. Harrison’s blood is estimated to have saved the lives of over 2.2 million children who might have otherwise died.
Dear Brother, just as over 2.2 million children would perish without the life-saving gift of Harrison’s blood, all people would be lost forever without the saving blood of Jesus Christ. How do you define this truth in your life? In what ways has Jesus’ sacrifice and His saving blood impacted your journey? How does reflecting on the good news of Jesus Christ and His gift to humanity make you feel?
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
